Life Imitates Art…

They say life imitates art, well, we’ve noticed how our cafe playlists imitate us. No wonder we keep hitting play on these songs this winter!

In “To the Mountains,” Lizzy McAlpine sings about heading to the mountains because it’s the only place she feels at peace. Someone tell her to bring some Tucker&Co. granola with her when she escapes the hustle and bustle to seek her inner calm!

Have you noticed in the first verse of “How to Disappear” by Lana Del Rey, she sings “But I love that man like nobody can. He moves mountains and pounds them to ground again.” Another person who likes to move mountains? Lana Del Rey’s lover is in good company - except we won’t be pounding the mountains we move into the ground.

How about the line in “Mt. Joy” by Mt. Joy where they sing “She’s the anchor, I’m a sailor, we’re lost in the height of the wave. Every wave, reminds me why I feel this way and drive way up over Mt. Joy.” We love this imagery, but we have one minor tweak…what if they drove up over S. Baltimore Street and let the “height of the wave” bring them (and you!) to Tucker&Co!

One of my motivations for opening Tucker&Co. was the desire to create a space where members of our community could gather. How fitting that we have “Crowded Table” by The Highwomen on our winter playlist! A favorite line reads “I want a house with a crowded table and a place by the fire for everyone.” It brings me immense joy to serve the community and welcome them to enjoy our nourishing, gluten-free, baked goodness and the savory creations from our kitchen.

Last but not least, Landon Pigg sings “never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much” in his song “Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop.” We know what we love about our little coffee shop in Dillsburg - it has become a place to bring people together and it allows me to serve the community that has given me so much. I love finding new businesses to support in the cafe, decorating for different seasons, and opening each day because each day is a day to serve new customers and our favorite regulars.

We hope you join us soon for your next cup of coffee, sing along to some café tunes, and maybe you’ll fall in love with our coffee shop the way we have.
