Busy in Bethlehem, PA

Isaac and I recently had the chance to treat ourselves to a lovely getaway in Bethlehem, PA. We stopped in a bunch of shops and restaurants in town, leaving with some exciting purchases and recommendations if you ever find yourself in this part of Pennsylvania. Here's a glimpse into what kept us busy in Bethlehem!

The Wilbur Mansion - We spent the night at The Wilbur Mansion and our stay here was amazing! The original detailed woodwork added so much charm to the mansion and the amenities were fantastic. My favorite part was the bathroom because it had a soaking tub and rainfall shower head - so relaxing! We also had dinner here on Sunday night - I got the Autumn Roasted Salmon and Isaac had the Filet Mignon. Absolutely wonderful!

The Emmaus Theater - Our original reason for heading out to Bethlehem was to see Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors in concert, but unfortunately that afternoon we found out the concert was being postponed due to illness. To make the most of our weekend, we pivoted and got tickets to a comedy show at the Emmaus Theater where we saw the guy from Cash Cab perform.

Moravian Book Shop - We spent time here just looking at all the beautiful books we wish we had time to read. We left with a new puzzle with a house plant theme and one 50% off book that was ironically about buying less.

The Flying Egg - We had breakfast here on Monday morning. Isaac had the two eggs your way with toast, home fries and a side of bacon. I had the Luna’s Oatmeal and a side of bacon. We enjoyed eating outside in the sunshine.

Knobs & Knockers - This was another shop in downtown Bethlehem where we browsed their collection of products. We spent way too much time contemplating a door knock for the front door of our house only to leave with none. This place was a DIYers dream with LOTS of beautiful hardware options for your next home or furniture rehab project.

The Attic - The downtown thrift store bought, sold, traded, and consigned designer brand clothes. We both tried on a few things. Isaac left with a new L.L. Bean dress shirt. I bought a new Athleta summer dress (that both Jane and I will be sharing haha), a pair of jeans, and a tank top.

Rodale Institute - After leaving downtown Bethlehem, we drove by the Rodale Institute to check out their farm. Unfortunately, we took no pictures, but it was fun to see the place in person after hearing about the great work they do on organic and regenerative farming through podcasts and books.

To round out our little road trip, we stopped in Hershey to grab Thai food from Sawasdee Thai. We took it to-go and ate it picnic style at some green space by The Englewood. It was the perfect way to end the weekend!
