Latte Art in Gettysburg

Our friends over at Presidents Coffee had their Latte Art Throwdown this past Friday in Gettysburg, so Tucker&Co took a team outing to put our latte art skills to the test and have some fun with friends!

The atmosphere in the café was energizing - the DJ played great music as each latte art competitor got themselves ready to compete. The competition took the form of a bracket - it was like March Madness for latte art. Each barista went head to head with their competing barista and then the three judges voted for a winner who would advance to the next round. The judges reported that their three criteria for consideration were complexity, symmetry, and milk texture.

There were cameras set up to capture the action so that everyone in the packed café could see what was happening at the coffee bar. As each contestant finished their latte art, they presented their mug to the judges and an aerial view was projected onto the wall.

As the mugs came into focus, you could hear the crowd get excited - especially when both lattes looked perfect and it was going to be a close call. The pressure mounted with each round - whoops, hollers, oohs, and aahs could be heard throughout the night and we cheered loudly for our Tucker&Co barista when she competed.

While our lovely Tucker&Co barista did not come away with a win, it was still an exhilarating experience - who knew latte art could get so competitive?! Thank you to our friends over at Presidents Coffee for hosting such a fun, lively event which really brought the community together! Our baristas came away from the event feeling inspired and they will be working on their latte art skills to wow you next time you order a hot latte!
